Christian and Goth?

Christianity, so often thought to be the very opposite of Goth, is actually where I found my home.  With the rich history and ties between the two, from the first non-Latin or Greek European Bible translation being the Gothic Bible. To the Gothic Architecture of Medieval Europe. To the Victorian Gothic revival period... Roots and ties run deep.  It even strikes me funny that when the historical Gothic tribe converted to Christianity, other Christians of the day questioned them for the bright clothing they wore.  "How could they be Christians and NOT wear dark clothing?"  Fast forward to our times, Gothic subculture folks come to Christ, and people question them... "How can they be Christian and WEAR dark clothing?"  In the views of historical Christianity, dark clothing was considered pious and humble, and bright clothing as vain and worldly... how things have flip-flopped!

Beyond the surface though, what does it look like being a Christian Goth?
First and foremost, I serve Jesus, the Savior who died at Golgotha, the place of the skull, who on the third day Rose Again.  Without this, my faith is for naught.
Secondly, I follow in the steps of the Man of Sorrows (Isaiah 51), as we are instructed in 1 Peter 2:21 ~
"For hereunto are you called, because Christ also suffered, leaving us an example, that we should follow IN HIS STEPS".
Thirdly, I seek to be "A voice crying in the wilderness..." and in so doing helping "those who sit in darkness see a great Light."
In all I do and say, I see to "live justly, seek mercy, and walk humbly with my God", as I seek to "boldly proclaim the Gospel".

No, I don't always wear all black, I live and work in the forest and desert, foraging and growing healing herbs.
No, I am not a witch - though some have called me that to the point I questioned it - but I do understand God's healing plants.
No, I don't listen to "satan" music.  It creeps me out.
No, I am not a vampire, a troll, or an orc .  I am just a gal with light sensitivity due to medical issues.
No, I don't worship satan, pagan gods/goddesses, or demons...I am a Christian!

True, I wear dark-colored clothing mostly, blacks, grays, dark greens, and browns, in fact, dark forest green is my favorite clothing color.
True, I am an herbalist, a plant healer, who can use the Plants and Herbs God gave us to help in the healing of our bodies.
True, dark melodic music gives me peace, (Classical, Celtic, Medieval, Christian Goth).
True, I am sensitive to light, due to health issues, which is why I am often wearing a hat.
True, I worship Jesus, and He is my savior, both spiritually and from nearly drowning.

This is why I am
"A child of the Night,
Saved by the Light,
Ministering in the Shadowlands."
